Customs representation is necessary when transporting goods to countries outside the EU, as well as when importing goods from such countries. Your customs agent A Logistics will represent you to facilitate the process and prepare the necessary documents for you, carry out the relevant customs procedures when passing through customs and when releasing goods from customs, as well as for customs warehousing.
Customs declarations
The customs declarations that we have to fill out for our clients include standard and simplified declarations.
Standard declarations are usually submitted electronically, but can also be submitted on paper. They express the customer's wish for the goods to be included in customs procedures, which are the basis for customs processes such as calculating customs duties.
Simplified declarations are used when deliveries need to be expedited. In such cases, some of the documents accompanying the declaration or the data on the goods may be omitted during customs clearance and must then be submitted with the relevant documents within a specified period.
Filling in a CMR consignment note
The CMR Convention applies to the carriage of goods by road. For this type of transport, our specialists prepare an international CMR consignment note. It is proof of delivery of shipments by road transport, as well as a type of contract between the sender, the carrier, and the recipient of the shipments. The carrier has the greatest responsibility for the condition of the goods during transport, as well as for any delays.
Issuing a EUR1 certificate
The EUR1 certificate for the movement of goods is issued by the country from which they are exported. This certificate is required for exports from the EU. In order for it to be issued, the customs authorities check the origin of the goods and compliance with other requirements under trade agreements. If necessary, checks are also carried out on the exporter's accounting documents and other checks.
Preparation of T2L documents
T2L certificates are prepared by our specialists and submitted electronically. They prove the EU status of the goods and must be presented to the customs authorities upon export.
Customs processing
Customs processing, which is also included in customs representation, includes transit to other customs offices, customs warehousing, and deconsolidation.
Customs representation for exports to the UK
After Brexit, from January 1, 2021, requirements for the preparation of a customs declaration for exports to the UK are in force for imports into the UK. In addition, customs representation is required to complete the customs declaration in Dover. Our specialists collect and prepare the necessary customs documents:
- a copy of the certificate of good standing of the importing company;
- document of origin of the goods;
- invoices and other documents certifying ownership of the goods;
- original commercial invoices;
- EORI registration to obtain a unique identification number required for customs clearance.
We collect and prepare other documents that may be required in a given case for import into the UK.
In addition, we arrange customs warehousing in the UK, in warehouses in London and Leeds.
The new UK import requirements do not apply to imports of goods into Northern Ireland. The existing document and procedure requirements continue to apply.
Whether you need customs representation for European countries outside the EU or for countries in the Middle East, our specialists are at your disposal. We are familiar with all requirements and monitor changes to them. We will arrange customs representation for you and collect and prepare the documents required for export.
