Registration and receipt of EORI numbers
An EORI number is usually required when documents are presented to customs. It is a registration and identification number issued to economic operators and individuals.
The EORI number is used for all customs and excise activities. It must be provided for customs procedures in all Member States of the European Union.
An EORI number is most commonly required when clearing courier consignments valued at over 30 leva or postal consignments valued at over 150 euros.
An EORI number can be obtained in two ways. Neither method requires payment of a fee. The first is by submitting a paper application to a customs office and presenting an identity document, and the second – electronically via the portal of the „Customs” Agency, which requires registration on the portal and a qualified electronic signature.
