Domestic transport
ServicesDomestic transport

Throughout the territory of the whole country, we ensure deliveries and specialized transport within 8 to 48 hours transit time of taking the consignment.

The domestic transport is a very important aspect of the economy and trade. Without secure, well organized and cost-effective domestic transport every business is under threat because it is unable to deliver the required goods at the right place at the right time, which means financial benefits missed and other losses.

That is why we take the responsibility to care for the domestic transport of your goods. For this purpose, the Bulgarian road network is used, including the national road network (the motorways, roads from first to third grade and speed roads), as well as the municipal roads for delivery to the final destination.

More about the road infrastructure of Bulgaria

The roads are generally divided in national and municipal road network. For traveling along the national road network of Bulgaria it is required to have a vignette tax paid which is issued for a certain period of time and gives you the right to use the road infrastructure.

The national road network is also a part of the international roads passing through Bulgaria. The national road network is managed by the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) and its total length in 2011 is 19,512 km, of which 2,970 km First-class roads and 458 km Motorways.

The municipal roads are free to travel without a vignette, but there are other restrictions for them in terms of speed and types of vehicles that can travel on them.

The motorways are high-speed roads for motor vehicle traffic with separate segregated traffic roadways in both directions and which are separated by a dividing strip. Each of the roadways must be with at least 2 traffic lanes and a third lane, separate for emergency stop.

Where the motorway intersects with another road or railway line, it always happens at different levels, and the entry and exit from the motorway is done solely and only at road junctions, as some of them are ramps. In Bulgaria there are 6 motorways, as the maximum traffic speed on them is 140 km / h.

In Bulgaria still there are no speed roads built, but it is planned to be constructed seven such until year 2020. They are expected to be built within the sections Vidin - Blagoevgrad, Sofia - Gueshevo, Varna - Dourankoulak, Ruse - Makaza, Plovdiv - Roudozem, Ruse - Shumen, and speed road "Rila", from Dupnitza to Samokov.

In overall, during the last decades in Bulgaria it is paid more attention to the road infrastructure and it is being worked on its expansion and improvement. It is started the building of a motorway network from Sofia to the Black Sea coast, which will significantly shorten the time to cover the destination and will make the transition easier, because of the quality of the road. However, there are still more than 2/3 of the roads in Bulgaria which are fourth class and are in pretty bad condition, and this applies both to the national road network and the municipal one, but it is expected for this issue to be resolved in time.

The main road connections in Bulgaria, which have a direct impact on the domestic and international connections are: Gueshevo - Sofia – Varna; Kalotina - Svilengrad, which is a part also of the international road from Vienna to the Near East and Istanbul; Sofia - Burgas (allowing more efficient transport of people and goods between Sofia and the Black Sea); Ruse - Kardzhali (the international road "North - South", connecting the northern and southern Bulgaria); Vidin - Kulata (international corridor № 4); Sofia – Ruse; Mangalia (Rom.) - Varna - Bourgas - Istanbul.
